The Minnesota Women'Right to Know Act requires all abortion seekers in the state to receive information about abortion from a manipulative and inaccurate pamphlet. The Satanic Temple has created an alternative booklet consistent with our religious beliefs that are based on science. Minnesota's pamphlet, produced by the State's Department of Health, has been criticized by medical experts and pro-choice groups for its misleading, inaccurate, and outdated information. Earlier versions were accused of actively discouraging patients from seeking abortions, and updated versions still retain elements of those manipulations.
The Satanic Temple has submitted its own religious pre-abortion counseling document as an alternative to Minnesota's document to ensure patients have access to science-based information. TST has petitioned for the approval of our pre-abortion counseling pamphlet to fulfill the state-imposed requirements as a matter of religious accommodation. This is a critical step in The Satanic Temple's efforts to secure unfettered access to abortion services for its members.
